DNS Configuration

From BCCD 3.0

Jump to: navigation, search

For the record, DNS in BCCD works like this:

  1. node000 has /etc/resolv.conf set to DNS servers provided by DHCP. This is the file used by libc's get* library calls
  2. node000 also runs pdnsd, which is a light-weight caching-only (no local zones, no recursion) DNS server. pdnsd is set to pass through look-ups to libc
  3. Other nodes are set to point to node000's DNS server
