Mac VirtualBox setup

Sample VirtualBox Setup
Required:
* two 1 GB+ USB drives * VirtualBox: (http://www.virtualbox.org/) * BCCD ISO image: http://cluster.earlham.edu/bccd-ng/bccd_latest.iso
The Virtualbox setup on the Mac must allow for connecting one USB drive that will become the bootable USB drive, and a second USB drive containing a copy of the BCCD ISO image.
- In upper-right corner of main Virtual box window click the blue "New" to create a new VM (virtual machine)
- Click "Next" on bottom of page
- Name Virtual Machine
- Choose name such as LittleFe
- Operating System is Linux
- Version is Debian (8 from the top)
- Click "Next"
- Configure memory for VM
- Click next to accept default
- Configure hard drive for VM
- Click "Next" to accept default
- Click "Next" again to proceed to disk configuration wizard
- Click "Next" yet again to accept defaults
- Click "Next" to accept default name (same as name you chose above)
- Complete configuring VM
- Click "Finish" to, well, wait for it, complete this step, finishing will come just a bit later
- Click "Finish" again to really create VM
- Tell VM where BCCD ISO is located
- Create Virtual CD Drive
- Click the 4th blue line in the panel on the right marked "Storage"
- Click the green "+" on the right by "IDE Controller"
- Click the "Empty" line which just appeared
- Link CD Drive to BCCD ISO
- On the far right Click the folder symbol having a green "^" on it
- Click the "Add" symbol with the green "+" in the upper left corner"
- Navigate to where directory on your system to bccd_latest.iso
- Click "Open" in lower right corner
- Click "Select " in lower right corner to complete this phase
- Create Virtual CD Drive
- Create two virtual USB drives
- Scroll to bottom of right panel and click on second blue line from the bottom "USB"
- On the middle of the left side click the top USB symbol with the blue circle (NOT the green plus this time)
- Click it a second time
- Click "OK" in lower right corner
- Scroll to bottom of right panel and click on second blue line from the bottom "USB"
You now have a configured virtual machine that will work with the creation of the bootable BCCD USB. When those steps ask for a mounting the BCCD ISO, insert the other USB drive (that of course has a copy of the ISO)
